Faced with rising energy costs and increasing public awareness about climate change, municipalities across Canada are taking a leading role in addressing greenhouse gas emissions through sustainability strategies, community plans and green building policies.
The success of LEED® demonstrates that buildings are one of the most effective ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and as a result more municipalities are developing green building policies.
This one day workshop, sponsored by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), provides information and tools to municipalities that have policies, and are now looking at implementation.
Drawing from industry and municipality experience, participants learn first hand how municipalities are addressing green building challenges and opportunities at a project level. Participants will walk away with resources and tools that will help them manage LEED projects more effectively.
