Advocacy - the voice of green building in Vancouver
Education – providing training and education to our members through professional development workshops, the Vancouver LEED User Group (VLUG) and monthly members meetings.
Capacity – functioning, elected Executive Committee and Advocacy/Education Committee
The Vancouver Branch is a member of the USGBC Cascadia Chapter, which is the most active chapter in the USGBC. The definition of Cascadia is “where the salmon run” and includes British Columbia, Washington and Oregon. Vancouver, being the birthplace of Green Peace, has always been a leader in sustainable thinking and we continued that tradition by having the first LEED Gold building in Canada, Vancouver Island Technology Park. We continue to strive to advocate green buildings to the development industry and governments, and educate the building industry professionals about best green building practices and technologies.
